Health first

In the last few years, the highest number of birds in cities provoked several troubles, with a high impact on environment
They do not only smear walls and cause damages to buildings, but also carry serious diseases to humans, such as ornithosis, toxoplasmosis, salmonellosis, cryptococcosis or histoplasmosis. It’s important not to underestimate pigeons’ ectoparasites bites (like ticks and mites): they also could be infectious diseases carriers
The bearing capacity of a urban setting concerning birds depends on the presence of food, water and suitable places to nest. The number of these animals is deeply connected with those limiting factors. In order to get satisfying results, containment operations should be aimed at reducing at least one of those limiting environmental factors, especially a lowering of nest sites.
